Description:

NGC 2467, commonly known as the Skull & Bones Nebula (looks more like Snoopy to me), is a dynamic star forming region in the southern constellation Puppis.

In this HSO (Hubble palette) image, sulfur, hydrogen and oxygen emissions reveal sculpted clouds of ionised gas, carved by intense radiation and stellar winds from young, massive stars embedded within the nebula.

NGC2467 nebula

Description:

Using only H and O filters, the nebula tends to look flat and monochromatic (red). Even if S II is faint, it is strongest where gas is shocked or compressed by stellar wind from young, massive stars or by ionisation fronts eating into dense molecular clouds. it is more selective and reveals better all the pillars, ridges, sharp ionisation fronts and dense knots.
