Description:

NGC 1365 is a large barred spiral galaxy about 56 million light-years away in the constellation Fornax. Known as the Great Barred Spiral Galaxy, it has a prominent central bar that channels gas toward the core, fueling active star formation and feeding a supermassive black hole at its centre. Classified as a Seyfert galaxy, NGC 1365 is an important example of how galaxy structure influences both star formation and nuclear activity.
