Description:

NGC 6822, or Barnard's Galaxy, is a small irregular galaxy about 1.6 million light-years away in the constellation Sagittarius. Part of the Local Group, it’s rich in gas and actively forming stars. Discovered in 1884, it’s often studied to understand how dwarf galaxies evolve and form stars over time.
